Job description

Chainguard is the secure foundation for software development and deployment. By providing guarded open source software, built from source and updated continuously, Chainguard helps organizations eliminate threats in their software supply chains.

Founded by the industry's leading experts on open source software, security and cloud native development, Chainguard has built the largest library of open source software that is secure by default.

Chainguard’s mission is to be the safe source for open source.

The role, in a nutshell:

In a word, BUILD. Our headcount has grown 4x over the past 12 months, we just raised $350M, and the business is thriving. The pace at which we’re growing is both exciting and chaotic. That’s where you come in: to help tame the chaos.

With the strength of our business alone, we don’t have much trouble attracting talent. Where we need help is someone who is thinking several moves ahead on the chessboard:

  • What should our systems look like as we scale?
  • Where should we be experimenting with exciting new tools, especially with emerging AI capabilities?
  • What are the most important metrics to track in real time, and what does that data allow us to improve?
  • How can we think outside of the box and create next-gen recruiting systems that will be talked about on stage someday?

If you’re interested in a high-impact, high-trust, slightly spicy role where you’ll be encouraged to stir the pot, challenge the defaults, and experiment your way into something better, then let’s talk.

What You’ll Do:
📈 Strategy & Process Design
  • Co-own and continuously optimize end-to-end recruiting processes to improve speed, quality, efficiency, and consistency of hiring.
  • Partner cross-functionally with function leaders to align recruiting operations with company growth goals.
🛠️ Systems & Tools Optimization
  • Create an AI strategy that helps us develop a competitive recruiting advantage.
  • Own our recruiting tools stack and ensure our co-workers are using them to their maximum effectiveness.
  • Monitor tool performance, adoption, and integration to ensure the tech stack evolves with team needs.
📊Reporting & Analytics
  • Storytelling with data: Build and maintain easy-to-read recruiting dashboards to track funnel metrics, hiring KPIs, and pipeline health.
  • Surface data-driven insights to influence recruiting strategy and decision-making.
🚀Enablement & Project Leadership
  • Launch and manage high-impact projects (e.g., Interviewer training, structured interview processes, competency-based hiring, cohort-based hiring, etc).
  • Teach our team by building training and onboarding resources for new recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Organize and ensure ease of discovery for all recruiting documentation.

🤯Experiments

  • Blow our minds with new things we haven’t even thought of.
Base Salary Range
$150,000$200,000 USD

About Us

We live and breathe our company values:

We are customer obsessed - We focus on delivering solutions to our customers that create value and make their lives better.

We have a bias for intentional action - We prioritize, plan, try things, and fail fast.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously (but we do serious work) - We are solving an important problem which takes focus, but we also like to enjoy the journey.

We trust each other and assume good intentions - We’re transparent with decisions to empower team members to make well informed decisions.

A few of the benefits we offer:

  • Flexible & Remote-First Culture: Work remotely with team meetup opportunities, bi-annual destination summits, and a $400 monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone and internet costs.
  • Our Approach to Equity:  Receive stock options upon hire and promotion. Plus, you can participate in secondary offerings and have 10 years to exercise your options (yes, you read that correctly: 10 years!).
  • 100%  Covered Health Insurance: We cover 100% of your health, vision and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents. Nothing comes out of your paycheck.
  • ∞ Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need – to do our best work, we need to recharge and reset.
  • 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave: We offer 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the option to use it all at once or throughout your child's first year.
