We are seeking a Director of Product Management to lead the strategy and execution for our Enterprise capabilities within HCP Terraform, as part of our Product Management organization. This is a high-impact leadership role, collaborating directly with other Engineering, Product & Design (EPD) partners. EPD comes together to ensure we deliver enterprise-grade solutions that meet the reliability, scalability, usability, security, and compliance needs of our largest customers.

As a key EPD leader, you will collaborate cross-functionally to define and deliver an innovative product strategy for our enterprise offerings, encompassing HCP Terraform, Terraform Enterprise, and foundational platform improvements. If you’re passionate about building and leading the vision for enterprise-ready cloud infrastructure automation products, understanding the unique needs of large organizations, and fostering a strong product culture within your team, we want to hear from you!

What you’ll do (responsibilities):

  • Strategic Vision & Leadership: Define and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Enterprise category, aligning with overall business goals and the needs of our largest customers.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Product Managers focused on the Enterprise category, fostering a culture of customer empathy, data-driven decision-making, and product excellence.
  • Enterprise Requirements Expertise: Deeply understand the foundational, compliance (e.g., PCI), security, and operational needs of enterprise customers, translating these into clear product requirements and priorities.
  • Cloud Platform Integration: Drive the product strategy for seamless integration between HCP Terraform and the broader HCP platform, ensuring a cohesive and valuable experience for enterprise users.
  • Terraform Enterprise Evolution: Own the product strategy and roadmap for Terraform Enterprise, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of self-managed enterprise deployments.
  • Platform Reliability & Scalability: Define and prioritize product initiatives focused on improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of the underlying HCPT platform to meet Tier 1 SLA expectations.
  • Enterprise Workflows & Governance: Drive the product strategy for key enterprise workflows, including Projects, workspaces, tagging, variable and policy sets, governance, and audit logging.
  • Migration Scenarios: Define product strategies to support smooth migration scenarios for enterprise customers adopting HCP Terraform.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Design, Finance, Legal, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure alignment on product strategy, requirements, and go-to-market plans for the Enterprise category.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor the market landscape, identify emerging trends, and analyze competitive offerings to inform the Enterprise product strategy.

What you’ll need (basic qualifications):

  • 10+ years of Product Management experience, with a significant focus on building and delivering products for enterprise customers.
  • 5+ years of People Management experience leading teams of Product Managers, with a track record of developing talent and fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. A people-focused leadership style, with experience motivating and inspiring individuals and teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud platforms or infrastructure-as-code solutions, with a strong understanding of enterprise requirements for reliability, scalability, security, and compliance.
  • Experience working with and understanding the needs of large, complex organizations and their procurement processes.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to effectively communicate with engineering teams on technical requirements and trade-offs.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to translate market insights and customer needs into successful product strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with HashiCorp Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud compliance standards such as PCI DSS, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.
