Project Financial Analyst – Contract

Manage the financials for a large IT Infrastructure projects reporting to the project team leadership and collaborating with GDD&T Finance and Procurement.

Responsibilities:

Manage, track, and maintain finance and accounting information, including:
Maintain project and operational budgets
Track project expenses working with project managers and technical managers.
Track invoices from project vendors. Reconcile invoices to reported spending.
Build a line-item level project financial forecast each month tracking actual spend and planned spend to the approved project budget, updating planned spend in consultation with the project team tracking to the project work schedule and purchasing plan.
Work with vendors to identify spending not yet invoiced to develop spending accruals for submission to Finance at the month’s end every month.
Submit and track purchasing requests through the PLAY system from request through PO to invoice
Comply with GDD&T Finance forecast and accruals standards and schedules
Comply with GDD&T Procurement policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum four years’ experience as a financial analyst or accountant for an information technology organization.
Formal training as an accountant or financial analyst.
Demonstrated understanding of IT project budgets, including estimation, spending tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
Demonstrated understanding of purchasing management (say more?)
Ability to build productive working relationships within and external to the project team
Responsive to project team requests and excellent follow up.
Use of Apptio or other financial management tools
Demonstrated ability to use financial accounting and reporting tools
Excellent skills with the Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
Ability to conduct and participate in remote meetings using remote meeting tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Webex
