Job description

We are a talented, hardworking group that share values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. geocgi is looking for a Jr. Geospatial Analyst to support our client, Indian Health Service (IHS) within the Department of Health and Human Services branch, Office of Environmental Health and Engineering (OEHE). As a member of the GIS team the candidate will support help desk activities, assist senior GIS Staff, and generate utilities data for analysis. The candidate must have a foundational understanding of GIS concepts, formats, systems, and best practices. This is a remote opportunity with anticipated travel to Seattle, Washington as requested by the client.

 
Responsibilities:
•    Provide first-level technical support to GIS users via telephone and a ticketing system.
•    Troubleshoot common GIS software, data access and basic hardware issues.
•    Assist senior GIS staff with various projects and tasks as needed.
•    Assist in the creation of maps, reports and other cartographic products.
•    Digitize, edit and maintain geospatial data layers using GIS Software, ArcGIS Pro.
•    Ingest AutoCAD and as-built data into ArcGIS Pro for Utilities such as water, wastewater and solid waste.

The following are requirements of the Jr. Geospatial Analyst:
•    US Citizen.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Geography/GIS, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
•    At least 2 years’ experience with ArcGIS Pro for managing geospatial data, generating cartographic products, and performing spatial analysis.
•    Experience working with a team of Project Managers, GIS Analysts, and GIS Specialists to respond to stakeholder and customer requirements.
•    Familiarity with ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS including web maps, apps, dashboard, surveys.
•    Understanding of enterprise GIS system concepts and technology.
•    Desire to take initiative and proactively solve complex problems.

The following are desired capabilities and experience of the Jr. Geospatial Analyst:
•    Some experience with data entry and database management.
•    Familiarity with utilities, specifically water, wastewater, and solid waste
•    Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems.
•    Ability to read and understand AutoCAD and as-built data.
