Job description

We drive market impact through three primary focus areas:  

  1. Programs, including our SMILE Health accelerator, to catalyze emerging innovation and connect innovators across the healthcare ecosystem.
  2. Innovation services – advisory services encompassing innovation strategy, market analysis, real-world pilot design and evaluation, and insight generation.
  3. Impact investing – direct investments in select early to growth-stage startups.  

Your work will be used to elevate the visibility of oral health by generating a portfolio of credible innovation use cases to be adopted more broadly and increase awareness about CareQuest Innovation Partners’ impact with the larger ecosystem of partners.

CareQuest Innovation Partners is a for-profit, mission-focused subsidiary of CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, the largest foundation focused on improving oral health. You will work in a multi-disciplinary Innovation Programs & Services team and in close collaboration with key functions across the enterprise including Analytics & Business Intelligence, Business and Ecosystem Development, and Ventures/Investing. You will also collaborate with marketing and PR teams to further grow our ecosystem and positioning through relationship activation with key industry partners and the development of thought-leadership that elevates the visibility of oral health within overall healthcare, advancing our mission and driving meaningful impact.

ROLE OBJECTIVES:

  • Supports design and execution of innovation programs and services across our focus areas and partners.
  • Develops points of view and playbooks to advance oral and oral/systemic health innovation landscape via thought leadership and publications to increase awareness of the importance of oral health for key decision makers and enhance the positive reputation of CareQuest Innovation Partners and its role as a thought-leader and driver of change in oral health and integrated care. This will leverage CareQuest’s proprietary data and insights.
  • Collaborates with analytics and business intelligence team members to support development of market analyses and distillation of critical clinical and business insights into actionable recommendations for decision makers.
  • Supports existing client partners relationships (including payers, providers, commercial, & investors) across the CareQuest ecosystem by monitoring programs and services performance and facilitating delivery of mission-aligned work.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executes pilot/program planning and management including scoping, requirement gathering, KPIs, tracking, activities, milestones, risks, reporting, and key stakeholder engagement.
  • Supports the development of CareQuest Innovation Partners’ thought leadership aligned with strategic priorities including data-driven written reports, publications, and presentations.
  • Conducts financial and data analyses to make the business case of transformative oral and integrated health solutions and deploy these solutions with leading dental and healthcare organizations.
  • Develops internal impact analyses and reports to ensure value of startup incubation, clinical innovation and validation, and partnership activities are understood.
  • Creates partner/client proposals for potential pilots, outlining project requirements, objectives, approach, key milestones, timelines, and deliverables
  • Proactively identifies emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the oral and integrated health landscape through market research, competitive analysis, and  monitoring of industry activities and events.
  • Collaborates with cross-enterprise stakeholders including analytics and marketing.
  • Attend additional training as requested/deemed necessary
  • Other duties as needed or required

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or healthcare-related field (or health-related coursework)
  • 3-5 years of work experience in healthcare, consulting, or research preferred including direct experience analyzing data and communicating results
  • Attention to detail and a curious mindset to explore data, uncover hidden insights, and validate assumptions
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and written / verbal communication skills honed for executive stakeholders, with ability to create and tailor materials to different audiences  
  • Experience being client-facing to build relationships and represent CareQuest Innovation Partners in the ecosystem
  • Experience working on small, collaborative teams with an “all hands-on deck” approach
  • Ability to independently drive to outcomes in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Can problem solve risks and issues amid complexity or ambiguity
  • Expertise utilizing MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Passion for improving healthcare through innovation
  • Should have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
    1. Thought leadership, including writing, presenting, and storytelling
    2. Pilot/program execution and management
    3. Dental and/or medical research and data
    4. Data analytics tools/techniques
    5. Developing and interpreting financial models
    6. Supporting relationships with clients, consultants, vendors, and other external partners
