This is a remote position.

Schedule:

  • (10 hours/week) 11 AM to 1 PM Monday to Friday

Job Description

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Remote Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support a growing performing arts organization while working remotely. You’ll manage financial operations and potentially expand into various administrative functions, directly contributing to the academy’s continued success. Responsibilities
  • Execute daily bookkeeping operations using Xero accounting software
  • Process and reconcile payments through digital payment platforms
  • Maintain accurate financial records and coordinate with external accountants
  • Handle essential financial tasks including:
    • Account reconciliations
    • Payment processing
    • Financial reporting
    • Tax preparation
    • Superannuation management
  • Support administrative operations through:
    • Professional email correspondence
    • Customer service support
    • Document preparation
    • Presentation creation
  • Collaborate with directors to streamline operations
  • Maintain organized digital filing systems
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives

Requirements
  • Proven experience with Xero accounting software
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax regulations and superannuation requirements
  • Demonstrated bookkeeping expertise with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience with digital payment platforms and modern business software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
  • Comfortable with technology and quick to adapt to new systems
  • Previous experience in arts or education sector is a plus
