Job Summary

TYLin is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Consultant to support our growing Smart Metering Practice within the Water Solutions team. This position plays a critical role in project execution and client success, with a focus on leading project tasks, coordinating field implementation, and managing day-to-day project delivery.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience delivering AMI/AMR projects for water utilities, with hands-on familiarity with metering systems, customer interface platforms, and utility field operations. This role provides an excellent opportunity for growth into senior leadership as the practice expands.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Project Execution: Lead day-to-day project activities for smart metering engagements, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and budgets are met.
  • Task Leadership: Serve as a task lead on large programs or as the primary lead on small to mid-sized smart metering projects.
  • Client Delivery: Act as a primary point of contact for clients on assigned tasks or projects; ensure clear communication, responsiveness, and satisfaction.
  • Field Implementation Support: Oversee or support field deployment activities including meter installation, network integration, and data validation.
  • Coordination and Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, support QA/QC processes, and coordinate across internal and external teams.
  • Reporting: Prepare status reports, participate in client meetings, and contribute to project presentations and closeout documentation.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or a related field, or 10+ years in the AMR/AMI sector
  • Minimum eight years of consulting experience on AMI/AMR projects in the water sector.
  • Working knowledge of metering hardware, network communications, and utility data platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience managing tasks, timelines, and deliverables within a consulting or utility environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with utility clients, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to quality, integrity, and continuous improvement.
