Structural Heart Business Mission: Why We Exist
Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.
As the Field Clinical Specialists Lead, you'll get the chance to be an interactive resource to the study, site, and in-house personnel regarding the product under testing and the conduct of the trial. Has an active role, with participating staff and advisors, to determine appropriate patient selection, surgical planning, procedural detail, peri-operative patient management and follow-up care. Process and interpret Echo and CT studies. Provides a strong knowledge-base of the disease state so as to advise laboratory personnel on patient selection and train on proper use of device.
This position requires a strong clinical orientation with the ability to influence a variety of clinician personality types
What You’ll Work On
- Under general supervision of the Manager, this position is expected to self-monitor, while providing the following responsibilities and activities: Develop/ Refine Therapy: Actively participates in the conduct of clinical trials with participating staff and advisors, to determine appropriate patient selection, surgical planning, procedural detail, peri-operative patient management and follow-up care.
- Provide clinical education and procedural support through education of current and potential customers, and procedure coverage.
- Train Surgeons, Interventional Cardiologists, catheter lab staff and ancillary personnel on the use of Structural Heart products and provide technical support to physicians during procedures.
- Ensures compliance with protocol and all regulatory policies, procedures and/or guidelines during clinical studies by training/guidance of investigators/study coordinators.
- Participates in physician advisor consultation.
- Applies advanced theory understanding and advanced experience regarding technical subject matter to process and interpret Echo and CT studies of potential patient-subjects seeking to participate in trial. Procedural Planning: Compiles patient clinical information and imaging materials to guide site care team on procedural details.
- Participates in ensuring patient safety to the maximum extent possible by following applicable regulations, standards and requirements related to clinical studies, patient confidentiality, and organization practices.
- As needed, coordinates logistics and provides technical support to site care teams for all cases. Site Training: Performs on-site support training of physicians, imaging staff, hybrid room and ward personnel, including therapy and situational associated requirements for patient care.
- Establishes policy and ensures adherence to applicable ethical regulatory and clinical standards by participating in the creation, review, and approval of departmental operating procedures, code of ethics, and mission statement.
- Advisor Review: Identifies, evaluates, properly reports and ensures adequate follow-up of adverse experiences by timely and accurate documentation and appropriate communication of all Adverse Event reports per internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare case summaries and other clinical data for review with Medical Advisors.
- Communicate product, clinical and market data to appropriate personnel and support the company’s efforts to develop and implement product marketing strategies.
- Serve as primary resource for clinical support in the areas of procedural coverage, troubleshooting and in service education for company products.
- Educate customer on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products.
- Inform customers of the latest product, therapy and technology developments in the industry.
- Actively engage in clinical, procedural and technical discussions and link data
- outcome to key messaging.
- Will perform this job in a quality system environment.
- Mechanical aptitude for device assembly
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA or equivalent related work experience required
- Strong understanding of heart failure and Cardiac hemodynamics
- Minimum of 9+ years of related work experience required
- Experience with Imaging analysis with CT CAD software and Echo analysis.
- Strong Clinical background and Interventional/surgical cardiac Procedural experience
- Experience with Sterile Technique and Aseptic Technique
- Ability to wear Lead Apron for interventional procedures for extended periods of time
- Experience and understanding of Hemodynamics and hemodynamic monitoring devices
- Working understanding of Heart failure and standards of care supporting Heart Failure patients
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, including some international travel
- Clean DMV record
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in life sciences or medical training (RN, Perfusion, PA etc.) preferred
- Medical industry preferred
- Strong clinical orientation, experience with products for use in interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery, familiarity with echo cardiolography and other indirect imaging, also strongly preferred

$111,300.00 – $222,700.00
