Job Overview Summary

Our Summer Intern Program is aimed at providing an enriching and mutually beneficial experience that empowers young talent with the skills, knowledge, and values needed to excel in their chosen fields and potential careers at Advarra. In addition to their working teams, the cohort will have regular opportunities to engage with each other and senior leaders from across Advarra to expand their networks and exposure to the business.

The IT Security Intern will work with the IT Security Team to support department initiatives. Assist in the capacity of a JR Security Analyst, learning how to manage information asset inventory; deliver support for security related issues; answer questions from current staff and own the resolution process while working with SMEs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the IT team in maintaining security state of hardware, software, and other systems.
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining hardware and software inventory.
  • Assist in performing hardware and software installation procedures.
  • Perform software configuration on stand-alone computers and laptops.
  • Assist with information gathering to maintain security standards or as part of incident investigation.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Location

This role is open to candidates working remotely in the US.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Graduate or undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Information Security
  • Ability to participate in the cohort beginning Monday, June 2, 2025 and running through Friday, August 8, 2025 and work 20/40 hours per week between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm EST (edit for requirements)
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
  • Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.
  • Learn and comprehend basic instructions
  • Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities
  • Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding, and speaking
