Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior developers, and stakeholders to gather and define business requirements for technical projects.
  • Extract, integrate, and analyze data from diverse sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and APIs, to support data-driven decision-making and analytics initiatives.
  • Partner with data engineering teams to acquire, clean, and transform data, ensuring optimal preparation for reporting and analytical purposes. Develop and maintain data models, including relationships and hierarchies, to enable efficient data visualization and analysis.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, KPIs, and paginated reports in Power BI, delivering actionable insights through optimized layouts, intuitive visualizations, and user-centric design elements.
  • Write, debug, and optimize DAX formulas and calculations to enhance reporting capabilities and ensure analytical accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to data security and compliance standards when designing dashboards and reports, applying best practices throughout the process.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, ensuring data integrity and accurate visualizations. Help validate data against predefined business rules and ensure data quality.
  • Utilize source control within Power BI Projects to collaborate effectively with other engineers and maintain version control.
  • Leverage Azure DevOps for organizing, tracking, and managing User Stories and tasks within an Agile project management framework.
  • Stay informed on the latest Power BI features and industry trends to continuously improve reporting capabilities and technical proficiency.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation, creative problem-solving, and a proactive approach to addressing challenges and contributing to project and team success.

Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required, preferably in a related field such as Data Analytics, Business Analysis, or a similar discipline. Relevant certifications or equivalent work experience with an analytics focus, particularly in Power BI or MS Fabric, is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis concepts and tools, including relational databases, star schema, SQL, and DAX, is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with advanced skills in data manipulation and analysis.
  • Proficiency in data visualization principles (e.g., charts, graphs, matrices, measures, and KPIs) with demonstrated experience in using Power BI or similar tools to transform data into actionable insights through effective reports and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts, ideally in Azure DevOps, including understanding of the product/engineering lifecycle, task and time management, Agile methodologies, and User Stories.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years’ experience with relational databases and star schema design, with the ability to write and modify basic SQL queries for data extraction and analysis. Extracting data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, or APIs.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for creating reports, dashboards, and analytical models. Support the development of data models by creating or maintaining data relationships and hierarchies.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Power BI and/or advanced Excel techniques, including writing DAX measures, using Power Query for data transformation and cleaning, and designing data visualizations/dashboards in Power BI. Selecting appropriate visualizations for data presentation and formatting visuals for clarity and aesthetics.
  • 1-2 years’ experience validating data against predefined business rules and ensure data quality, integrating data from multiple sources into Power BI, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
  • 1-2 years’ experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, and Asana for tracking tasks, managing workflows, and supporting project timelines.
  • 1-2 years’ experience with source control systems, preferably Git, and use of integrated development environments (IDEs) such as Visual Studio Code.

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $67,670.00 - $98,125.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
