Blue Cross NC uses data analysis to support and drive decision making to set and achieve cost, revenue, and margin targets for the division, delivery partners, subsidiaries, and the broader organization. As Principal Financial Advisor, you will play a key part of driving healthcare innovation by providing strategic modeling, analysis, insights, and business case development on new products, initiatives, programs, services, vendor partnerships, and lines of business. You will drive, manage, and collaborate work efforts across the enterprise to provide senior leadership teams and peers with strategic pricing insights to actualize our organizational strategy across multiple time horizons. In this newly created role, you will be tasked with developing a deep understanding of the Blue Cross NC portfolio of companies’ cost, revenue, margin, and overall financial performance to model business case development and drive strategic pricing decisions.

What You Will Do

• Proactively gather information and data to evaluate and model business cases for pricing strategies and asset management by leveraging subsidiary financial data, competitor pricing, and underlying cost drivers to develop insights to maximize ROI, achieve financial goals, and reducing risk/exposure to enable Blue Cross NC and subsidiaries to meet growth, profitability, and cost containment goals.

• Builds and manages relationships and collaborates with both internal and external partners to drive complex financial, data, cost, and pricing analyses focused on business case development and pricing strategies and opportunities with high levels of importance and visibility

• Leads and delivers annual strategic reporting, analysis, evaluation, and insight of pricing strategy including effectiveness against goals, market competitiveness, testing/validating underlying assumptions, recommending changes in strategic pricing direction, and impacts of new market offers.

• Drives strategic pricing stewardship and direction through collaboration, consultation, analysis, and modeling to drive growth and goals for all stakeholders.

• Articulate analytical findings in a clear and compelling manner using data visualization

• Distill information/insights from data leveraging analytics tools and techniques to build pricing models and scenarios to inform business decisions and answer key questions

• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in pricing strategy to enhance pricing capabilities

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

• 8+ years of experience in related field.

• In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field

Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications)

• Proficient with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Skilled in business case analysis, modeling, and strategic pricing
• 3 years of experience working with common visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or SuperSet
• Pricing experience strongly preferred

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets,  licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs. 

*Based on annual corporate goal achievement and individual performance.
