Job Description

Research & Innovation (R&I) is seeking a student worker/intern to help with content maintenance for the division websites. The student will receive complete on-the-job training and first- and second-year students are encouraged to apply! The student will learn to manage a request process for website updates and will be trained in remediating digital content and materials for ADA accessibility. Additional projects may include assisting in promoting information related to the research, creative and scholarly work of faculty, staff and students; and promoting the resources, services and activities made available through R&I. The student worker/intern needs to be self-motivated, very detail-oriented, organized, and able to communicate professionally with members of the R&I team. The student worker/intern reports to the R&I marketing and digital media coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of the division websites

  • Proof reading and formatting content for the web

  • Updating the division websites through the University’s content management system

  • Reviewing/remediating website material and documents for ADA accessibility compliance

  • Utilizing the University’s website scanning software to address website accessibility and quality assurance

  • Building and updating online forms

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno

  • Candidate must have good communication skills, ability to follow direction, adaptative learning capabilities, and must maintain information confidentiality

  • Candidate must be detail oriented, organized, efficient and reliable

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidate has strong writing and copy-editing skills

  • Candidate has strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Candidate has good telephone and verbal communication skills

  • Candidate is Able to manage multiple work assignments and meet deadlines

Schedule

Expected hours to work per week: 15

The work schedule is flexible and may be structured as a work-study program or as a formal internship for credit, if agreed upon by the applicant’s internship advisor. This position has the option to work fully remote.
