Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Principal Engineer with Full-Stack Ruby on Rails expertise for a brand new AI product features mission team within the ManageBac product. This is an exciting role to shape the future of AI within the product and partner closely with Product, Design, and the AI Platform teams to drive fast-paced innovation.

ManageBac is the leading online planning, assessment and reporting platform for IB World Schools, supporting over 140,000 educators in 130 countries for over 15 years. By providing schools with one unified system on a consistent, modern and mobile-ready interface, ManageBac offers a seamless & integrated experience for coordinators, teachers, students, and parents.

We are looking for someone to help drive technical innovation and architectural modernisation. You will join the team at an exciting time and play a key role in shaping the future of the product and how teams build it.

Requirements

Prior experience acting in a technology leadership position and driving change
Multi/Polygolot full tech-stack experience is required, as this role will require an understanding of a typical Ruby on Rails tech stack and driving a gradual shift of the tech stack.
Proven experience in scaling and evolving long-lived, high-traffic SaaS applications
Strong understanding of data-intensive design patterns
Experience influencing cross-team engineering culture and architectural alignment within growing organizations
Experienced with AWS
Clear, async-first communicator with strong written English skills
