ABOUT THE ROLE
The YouTube Video Editor plays a crucial role in Ignite Marketing’s content engine, turning raw footage into polished, engaging videos that captivate audiences, drive subscriptions, and generate leads. This role is central to ensuring the brand’s storytelling is compelling, on-brand, and optimized for YouTube’s fast-moving platform. In this position, the editor will have the chance to work closely with a creative team, elevate the company’s video presence, and directly impact client and company growth.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- End-to-End Video Editing: Edit and assemble multi-camera footage, synchronize audio, and craft cohesive YouTube videos (typically 5–20 minutes long) that meet project goals.
- Audio & Visual Enhancement: Clean and enhance dialogue tracks, balance sound levels, apply color grading, and ensure visual consistency across all deliverables.
- Motion Graphics & Titles: Integrate lower thirds, animated intros/outros, infographics, and on-screen call-outs using After Effects or equivalent tools.
- YouTube Channel Optimization: Embed on-screen CTAs, chapter markers, captions, and end screens, delivering fully optimized files ready for upload.
- Collaboration & Asset Management: Work with designers on thumbnail concepts, manage project files and sequences, maintain an organized content library, and ensure high-quality final outputs.
- Performance & Process Improvement: Review YouTube Analytics data, suggest edits to improve viewer engagement, and help refine editing workflows, templates, and presets for efficiency.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience editing YouTube-focused content, preferably in educational or health-and-wellness niches.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and strong familiarity with Audition (or equivalent audio tools) and DaVinci Resolve.
- Ability to manage multi-camera sequences, large-file proxy workflows, and 4K/6K footage.
- Strong storytelling instincts with the ability to pace tutorials and deliver clear takeaways.
- Excellent communication and feedback-handling skills; reliable in meeting deadlines.
- Outstanding organizational skills for file naming, version control, and archive management.
- Must have own webcam, microphone, and computer (relevant software and subscriptions provided).
- Excellent English verbal and written language proficiency (C1-C2 in CEFR Scale).
- Access to a quiet work area at home with reliable internet (50 mg or more).
PREFERRED ("NICE-TO-HAVE") QUALIFICATIONS
- Intermediate motion design skills, including creating custom animations and kinetic typography.
- Familiarity with SEO, keyword research, tagging strategies, and thumbnail A/B testing on YouTube.
- Basic graphic design ability to produce branded overlays and lower thirds.
- Experience using ClickUp or similar project management tools.
- Background in adapting long-form content into short-form clips for platforms like Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
ROLE SPECIFICATIONS
- Base Salary: Q14,000 base salary.
- Role type: Full-time.
- Location: Guatemala (Remote - Work from home).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
RECRUITING PROCESS
- Application / Screening: When you apply for this position, we will ask you a short questionnaire to get to know you a little bit better and ask you for some additional inputs to see if you qualify for the position. In addition, we will ask you to complete a short psychometric evaluation and a short English proficiency assessment. The idea is to explore if this is a good fit before moving forward.
- Skills Assessment: You will be asked to complete a few exercises and/or projects designed to recreate the work tasks that you will be responsible for if you are given the role. This helps us gauge your skill level as well as give you a better idea of the required work.
- Skills Assessment Interview: This is a 60 min - 90 min conversation where we further test your skills, learn about your previous working experiences, and evaluate culture fit to the role and company.
- Hiring Manager Final Interview: This is a 30 min - 60 min conversation with the position’s Hiring Manager (and potentially a few company team members) to get to know you better and to set the expectations and vision for the role.
The entire process usually takes anywhere between 2-4 weeks to complete depending on the seniority of the position.
