Job Summary
This position will play a critical leadership role in the accounting and financial reporting function, supporting the Company’s strategic priorities and ensuring compliance with all external financial reporting requirements, including but not limited to regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Accounting Standards Board. A successful candidate will leverage a strong accounting background, business experience, and the ability to collaborate to drive the Company’s objectives forward while maintaining a strong control and compliance framework. This role will provide leadership in the areas of technical accounting, strategic business transactions, internal controls, and the standardization of core accounting and reporting processes. This role reports to Harley-Davidson’s Chief Accounting Officer.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead financial reporting processes to comply with on-going U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reporting requirements of the SEC.
- Lead efforts cross-functionally to ensure proper application of U.S. GAAP, global accounting policies, and SEC regulations for complex business transactions, strategic changes in the business, and external events impacting the company.
- Design and implement leading accounting processes and controls to support new business developments and to streamline existing activities.
- Maintain strong relationship with external auditor leadership and collaborate with the external and internal audit teams to facilitate the annual integrated audit and management’s annual internal controls assessment.
- Lead efforts to modernize and improve the internal control framework and SOX compliance processes.

Education Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting is preferred. An MBA or CPA is Preferred. SAP Certifications a plus.
Experience Requirements
- CPA Required
- This job typically requires a minimum of 10 years of Big 4 or combined Big 4 and public company experience and a minimum of 5 years of management experience
- Advanced understanding of US GAAP and core accounting concepts with experience in their application to complex contractual and transactional arrangements
- A high level of integrity, excellent judgment, and analytical skills, and the ability to identify issues relevant to Harley-Davidson, Inc. operations and plans for growth
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skill,s as well as strong written and verbal
- communication skills
- An ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
