Job description

Job Overview:

The Strategic Pricing Lead helps to support the ongoing commercial operations of Fortrea by leading the Strategic Pricing process for a given Business Unit. The Strategic pricing analyst sits within the Strategic Pricing group, helping to balance the commercial growth of the organization against sustained financial success. The ideal candidate for this position is able to work independently, be comfortable leading discussions with internal stakeholders and have a high financial acumen.

Summary of Responsibilities:

These are the specific areas of accountability requiring decisions or delivery of results. 

  • Creation of assigned budgets by liaising with respective support/specialty functions across Fortrea to facilitate consolidation of budget parameters including use of the proper rate card, inflation, currency exchange and other Master Service Agreement terms
  • Strategic review and challenge of budgets prior to and during managerial review for assigned budgets
  • Attend and participate in internal review and prep meetings (Strategy/Ideation calls, Challenge Calls, Bid Defense prep, Commercial Prep, etc.)
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis of feasibility / profitability of implementing process changes on existing procedures
  • Develop and negotiate commercial terms strategies (bonus / penalty, inflation concessions, etc.)
    • May also include leading a new custom client tool solution or collaborating with the applicable team members to drive a more innovative approach
  • Participate in and support initiatives as assigned
  • Develop presentations for Deal Review / Executive Sign-off calls as necessary
  • Attend customer meetings, as applicable
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic qualification 
  • Fortrea a may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements

Experience (Minimum Required):  

  • A minimum of 6 years of budget and/or text development, or an equivalent combination of education and CRO/pharma/other related experience to successfully perform the essential job duties
  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to negotiate
  • Demonstrated computer skills – requires excellent MS Office experience (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of proposal management software applications (e.g., Salesforce.com, Qvidian, Proposal Automation applications) is preferred
  • Demonstrated text editing and writing skills (based on business unit and/or team expectations)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize
  • Demonstrated teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with internal stakeholders, clients and Covance senior management
  • Positive attitude and sense of urgency
  • Ability to work across Fortrea Business Units
  • Ability to provide limited team management activities
  • Ability to work irregular and/or extended hours as needed to meet the client’s proposal deadline.
