ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Senior Project Accountant (PACT) that will set up new projects in Unanet ERP, maintaining budgets, monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances between billing/revenue, investigating variances between budget/cost, and entering client billings. You will also be responsible for closing out projects; making sure revenue is 100% earned, budgets are trued up to equal cost, reconciling AR, and assisting employees with any Unanet issues.  You will own more complex projects, mentor junior staff, and assist Lead Project Accountants/Project Accounting Manager as needed.  

Job Functions:

Unanet

  • Sets up new Direct projects
  • Enters MODs and corresponding budget updates
  • Create and monitor client billings and payments
  • Creates new GL accounts, pay types, labor groups, labor categories, and locations
  • True up budgets at year-end using ‘Actual’ rates vs ‘Target’ rates
  • Closes out projects

    -True up the budget to equal cost/revenue
    -True up revenue to equal value (100% earned)
    -Reconciles Billing and Revenue
    -Reconciles AR – Billed and Receivables

  • Analyzes monthly reports for any billing/revenue variances
  • Analyzes monthly reports for any budget/cost variances
  • Performs other duties as required to support the Accounting Department


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (experience considered in lieu of degree)
  • 5+ years of project controls/accounting experience in Engineering/Construction or a related field
  • 10-key by touch
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; must be detail-oriented
  • Ability to multitask
  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills
  • Ability to follow up on pending issues
  • Ability to meet deadlines
