We are looking for a Data Specialist to join our team and work closely with one of our clients, an education data intelligence platform that integrates and analyzes data from K-12 schools across the United States.

Role Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes that ingest data from various school districts. Your core responsibilities will include identifying, investigating, and resolving data issues—often related to data mapping or transformation logic—as well as performing occasional manual data extraction and uploads when automated pipelines do not cover a specific data source.

Ø Monitor ETL jobs and data ingestion pipelines for anomalies or failures.
ØTroubleshoot and resolve data errors related to mapping, transformation, or loading processes.
ØWork with the engineering and data teams to escalate and document recurring issues.
ØPerform manual data collection from specific sources when needed and feed it into the system via established procedures.
ØWrite and maintain SQL queries to validate and inspect incoming datasets.
ØRead, interpret, and update existing Ruby scripts used in the ETL workflows.
ØContribute to documentation of data processes and issue-resolution playbooks.
Must have
Ø2–4 years of experience in a data support, ETL operations, or data engineering role.
ØStrong proficiency in SQL for querying and validating data.
ØWorking knowledge of Ruby (ability to read and make basic updates to ETL scripts).
ØHands-on experience with monitoring or maintaining ETL pipelines in a production environment.
ØStrong attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward solving data quality issues
Nice to Have
Experience with education or public sector data systems.
Exposure to Job schedulers like Airflow, Sidekiq or corn jobs
Familiarity with data visualization tools or reporting platforms.
