Job description

We’re looking for a skilled and certified Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer to join a global IT team supporting enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and managing secure, high-performing AVD environments in Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with large-scale AVD implementations, is fluent in German (B2+), and holds relevant Microsoft certifications.

Your Responsibilities

Design and deploy secure, scalable Azure Virtual Desktop infrastructures
Manage host pools, session hosts, workspaces, and application groups
Integrate AVD with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Group Policies
Automate provisioning using ARM templates, Bicep, or Azure Resource Manager
Ensure availability and performance through scaling plans and load balancing
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and AVD Insights
Implement enterprise-grade RBAC, conditional access, and security baselines
Collaborate with networking and security teams to build secure cloud environments
Resolve technical issues related to profiles, application delivery, and system performance

Required Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop in enterprise settings
Solid knowledge of core Microsoft Azure services (networking, identity, compute, storage)
Experience with Windows Virtual Machines, Microsoft Intune, Active Directory (on-prem & Azure)
Strong understanding of FSLogix and multi-session Windows 10/11
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
Familiarity with security best practices in virtual desktop environments
Fluency in German (B2+) is required
