Sales Assistant Temporary

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE  

The Sales Assistant position is responsible for managing the process flow of customer short payments, follow-up, and clearance of short-paid items. Additionally, this position will help with order entry and serve as support staff for the SCM team, booking appts, confirming orders and inventory management. 

JOB DUTIES: 

• Responsible for handling/justifying adjudication of issues where customer payments do not match billed amounts
• Serve as liaison between various departments to minimize losses, and expedite ‘Short Pay’ process flow (Sales/SCM teams and Finance/Accts. Receivable)
• Monitor customer write-offs by tracking fulfillment errors, damaged/non-sellable products
• Create Excel charts and spreadsheets; perform some Access database functions
• Must be well organized with a good sense of how to prioritize tasks
• Must be detailed oriented, excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills and must be able to offer creative suggestions to improve operations.
• Must be ready and willing to work in a fast-paced always changing environment.
• Must be able to communicate with all levels of management in all departments and facilities
• Experience in Inventory Management is a plus
• Work with sale(s) person in determining product prices
• Support the Sales Department in growing our business.
• Other duties as assigned

 WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR  

Minimum Qualifications:  

• High School Diploma or GED; and one-year previous experience working with customers in a sales related / customer service capacity

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Additional Required Qualifications:  

• Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and employees in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral forms
• Computer literate: Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook and Access
• Excellent mathematical skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent attendance record
• Team player with the ability to problem-solve
• Basic accounting A/R, A/P knowledge or experience preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity/knowledge of customer ‘Short Pays’
• Experience with JD Edwards, Red Prairie and fulfillment processes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:

• Must be able to sit for an extended period during work period 

HOURS & WORKDAYS:

• 1st shift (8:00am-5:00pm) Monday through Friday, when business requires before/after hours will be mandatory
