Job description

As a Business Analyst you will help optimize our insurance purchase experience (consumer and agency sales). This critical role will work with product design and development teams to understand and enhance how end-users interact with our digital insurance platform to quote, issue and manage policies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to write the requirements to improve customer satisfaction, sales processes, and ensure frictionless experience across all touchpoints. You will work closely with module owners and stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations while developing the business requirements that will be provide support to the project and development teams. Success in this role requires a strong business process/analyst background, excellent self-leadership, and a deep understanding of direct consumer and agency sales processes for auto insurance.

What you’ll do

  • Work with the module owner, Customer Experience, Product Design, Product Development, Internal sales teams, and other domain leadership to understand the program objectives, scope, and success criteria.
  • Execute the module strategy in alignment with Direct Consumer and External Agent related business unit goals and industry trends, ensuring requirement definitions support the overall direct sales management and processing vision.
  • Collaborate with internal/external cross-functional teams, and pertinent business units to gather requirements and understand process dependencies.
  • Provide solution insights and recommendations to enhance sales operations, reduce costs, and improve user experience.
  • Work with the module owner, technical product managers, UX/UI designers, product teams, and developers to translate business requirements into actionable user interface and experience improvement stories.
  • Maintain excellent external relationships with carriers, vendors, agency partners, and service providers that support Insurance Sales operations—including both onshore and offshore resource engagement.
  • Evaluate the end-to-end digital experience for insurance consumers and agents, including website navigation, quote flow, purchasing process, and customer support tools.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance teams as they build testing plans to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to the requirements developed, as well as the business objectives guiding the features created.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements and assist in conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) exercises with domain SMEs.
  • Assess and improve the internal sales processes and workflows when customers contact the sales team (via phone, email, or chat).
  • Assist in creating and maintaining comprehensive requirements documentation for the module and system configurations, including business specifications.
  • Collaborate as needed with the training team to provide documentation, training, and continuous support to sales staff to ensure they are equipped with the necessary tools to engage with consumers effectively
  • Provide historical requirements information in a timely fashion to aid in investigation and response to escalated inquiries or sales processing issues.
  • Help ensure sales processes and systems comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

This might describe you
  • Current or prior experience implementing auto insurance direct consumer and/or agency sales flows
  • 3-5 years’ proven experience as a business analyst is preferred.
  • Knowledge of quote to issuance sales processes, insurance products, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in supporting large scale development efforts, preferably in a dedicated workstream.
  • Surface level knowledge of release management frameworks and tools desired.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and related tools (e.g., ADO, Jira, Confluence).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results with clear documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative and efficient solutions. 
  • Ability to self-lead and adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

  • This role can be worked from any U.S. remote location. 
  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
