Platform Engineer III (Azure/Windows) - Remote

The Opportunity: 

The Platform Engineer III will be responsible for building, and maintaining scalable and reliable platform solutions that support the development and deployment of applications across the organization. This mid to senior-level role requires a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, and modern DevOps practices. Platform Engineer III will work closely with other platform engineers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the platform meets the organization's technical and business requirements. 

Day in the Life:

• Manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud including virtual networks, storage, and compute resources. 
• Implement and maintain on-premises and Azure Active Directory environments including Manage Group Policies, AD schema modifications, and organizational units. 
• Implement and manage identity and access management solutions, including Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). 
• Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and performance. 
• Implement best practices for cloud security and compliance while ensuring proper role-based access controls (RBAC) and least privilege principles are enforced. 
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and cloud templates to streamline platform operations and reduce manual intervention as well as provide self-service capabilities to the end-users. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues in a timely manner. 
• Optimize cloud resources to improve cost efficiency and performance. 
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions to track platform performance and identify issues proactively. 
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior platform engineers. 
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and on-call as needed for emergencies or critical maintenance activities 

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information security, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  
• Relevant certifications in the Cloud such as AWS & Azure, are preferred.  
• Five (5) plus years of relevant experience within Information Technology, specializing in Platform and Operating System Technologies. 
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and AD diagnostic tools. 
• Experience with extending and managing the AD schema, including attributes and classes. 
• Experience with cloud-based storage solutions, such as S3, Azure Blob, EFS, and on-premises storage systems.  
• Expertise in deploying Cloud Infrastructure, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage accounts, and load balancers. 
• Strong skills in managing Azure resources using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform to automate deployments and operations. 
• Proficiency in implementing cloud security best practices, including encryption, identity protection, and regulatory compliance. 
• Proficiency in virtualizing environments using tools such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM. 
• Understanding of cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, VPNs, and load balancers. 
• Strong skills in managing Linux/UNIX systems, including shell scripting, package management, and system performance tuning. 
• Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex Active Directory environments, including forests, domains, and organizational units. 
• Proficiency in creating and managing Group Policies to enforce security settings and configurations across the organization. 
• Identity and Access Management: Strong skills in managing identities, roles, and access controls within Azure AD, including implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). 
• Ability to plan, lead, and execute complex projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new deployments.
