Compensation Range:

$70,197.00 - $105,295.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE
Designs, implements, and disseminates advanced analytics and data science projects. Works with and advises key stakeholders to provide analysis and insight to enable data-driven decision-making. Supports the development and evolution of advanced statistical and mathematical methods, including machine learning capabilities. Works in partnership with team members to solve complex problems, ensure robust, scalable analytic solutions and implement them efficiently and effectively access the enterprise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In consultation with Manager and Sr Leadership: Completes periodic costing on a timely basis for incorporation into the global and chief reports. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Develops and maintains detailed analysis of statistics used in cost process to allocate overhead expenses to patient care areas.
    • Performs analysis and tests to ascertain integrity of cost data and completes reconciliation of financial statements to management reports.
    • Acts as a focal point for all inquiries regarding cost allocation and provides cost analysis using costing software (StrataJazz) in response to requests from all disciplines at the hospitals.
    • Collaborates with the URMC Finance Teams in further defining and analyze financial modeling.
  • Works with Decision Support System Administration in supporting the data management process, costing and reporting tools, and assists in ensuring that all feeds are fed properly, audited, and integrated into the data bases efficiently and timely.
  • Evaluates and becomes familiar with performance reporting protocols and objectives.  May write or assist in writing procedures that control reporting needs and processes. Support and serves as backup for the Decision Support/Business Intelligence Team on Business Intelligence Analytics projects.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Data Science, Information Science, or other relevant field and two years of relevant experience required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems and strong critical thinking skills required
  • Strong analytic, qualitative, and quantitative data analysis skills, with demonstrated ability to break down complex problems into phased deliverables required
  • Ability to work independently and successfully complete assigned tasks on time with limited oversight required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to describe data science concepts to lay/nonexpert audiences preferred
