  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure data alignment with standards.
  • Perform data cleaning, transformation, and manipulation using SQL.

An internship with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting

  

Job Description Summary

The Project & Portfolio Management Intern (Data Analytics, Power BI) analyzes data using Power BI tools and dashboards. The Intern is responsible for creating and maintaining data visualizations, generating reports, and data cleaning and transformation.

This is a remote paid internship available for Summer 2025. This Intern can be based anywhere in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish PowerBI dashboards for project portfolio management 

    • Power BI Proficiency: Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including report and dashboard creation.
    • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to translate data into informative visuals and reports.
    • Data Modeling and Visualization: Understanding of data modeling and data visualization concepts.
    • SQL Knowledge: Familiarity with SQL for data manipulation and extraction.
    • Communication Skills: Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
    • Detail-Oriented: Ability to ensure data accuracy and report/dashboard alignment with standards.

Learning Objectives:

    • Gain hands-on experience in data visualization, business analytics, and dashboard creation using Microsoft Power BI.
    • Develop a high-level understanding of project portfolio management
    • Enhance presentation, communication,  and organizational skills.
    • Understand the operations of a non-profit organization and the role of technology in enabling our Mission.

The hourly rate for internships is $15, except when noted differently above OR where local minimum wage exceeds that figure, in which case the hourly rate will be the higher of the two.  If you are unable to be paid for this internship due to outside funding or other directives from your educational institution – please let your hiring manager know AFTER you have been identified as the final candidate.
