Job Description:

We are seeking a Northwest Coast Account Manager (Planova virus filters) that will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with customers and potential customers while promoting and selling the high quality AKB products and services within the assigned territory. This role focuses on securing new business, growing existing accounts, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

You will execute territory business strategies, engage with key decision-makers, and collaborate with internal teams to support customer success. This role is ideal for individuals eager to contribute to a fast-growing company and dynamic team environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Account Management

  • Sell AKB products and services, particularly Planova virus filters, in the assigned territory.
  • Focus on new business development by securing orders that meet or exceed mutually agreed goals.
  • Develop and execute territory business plans, including individual account strategies.
  • Identify and engage with key decision-makers within customer organizations.

Customer Engagement & Support

  • Conduct hands-on demonstrations of AKB products and deliver application presentations to potential and existing customers.
  • Provide product and technical support, including responding to inquiries, issuing quotations, and troubleshooting.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints by leveraging internal resources.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and follow-ups.

Business Strategy & Market Intelligence

  • Communicate best practices, sales strategies, and market insights within the team.
  • Report competitive product information and observe competitor activities to inform AKB’s commercial approach.
  • Support territory forecasting and budgeting, contributing to sales and volume planning.

Industry Representation & Brand Promotion

  • Represent AKB at exhibitions, technical symposia, and industry events.
  • Conduct booth duties, deliver technical presentations, and recommend suitable events for AKB’s participation.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete customer visit reports, monthly activity reports, and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
  • Support forecasting and budgeting for territory sales and volume.

MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • BS/BA in a Life Science or related field.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in Bioprocess Manufacturing or Process Development.
  • 0-2 years in a sales or product marketing environment preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of downstream processing, process development, virus filtration, tangential flow filtration, and chromatography preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell life-science products & services a plus.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Multilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to attend international conferences and meetings as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to travel up to 60%, including overnight travel, based on territory geography and business requirements.
  • Must be able to work in both remote and customer-facing environments.

The base compensation range for this role is $95,000-$105,000. In addition, bonus target is $15,000 annually. Base Compensation is influenced by many factors including, but not limited to: time in the role, previous experience, skills, knowledge, performance, work requirements, internal equity, and business / economic conditions.
