We have an exciting and challenging role as a Wound Closure & Healing – Inside & Virtual Sales Specialist.

Purpose of the role

This role is essential to the success of our Surgery Wound Closure & Healing portfolio driving lead generation, alongside providing backorder management support, with 70% of time spent on Inside Sales activities & 30% of time on Virtual Sales Support.

General Summary

Inside Sales – 70-80%

Working remotely, the Inside Sales element of the role will specialise in lead and opportunity generation for our Wound Closure business across a defined geography, playing a crucial role in growing our customer base and driving sales growth. The role involves identifying, targeting and qualifying potential leads, nurturing key relationships, and supporting our sales team in achieving sales targets, by delivering qualified hot leads that can quickly move through trial.

Virtual Sales Support – 20-30%

Working remotely, you will be responsible for managing Wound Closure customers across the UK. You will use virtual technology and assets to maintain business by providing a concierge level service to customers focusing on account queries, suture upgrades, proactive backorder management and code rationalisation. 

You will be part of the Wound Closure & Healing UK Sales Team and will engage regularly with them, both collectively and individually.  You will develop a business plan for your customer base and execute against the plan using virtual selling aids and digital channels, including email and social media.

You will be supporting our Wound Closure business nationally and your sales targets will reflect the impact you can make for customers across the UK, whilst ensuring that you are rewarded and recognised for your individual achievements. In this role, there will be opportunity to constantly improve processes and the services we offer so that our customers are continually delighted with the experience they receive from Johnson and Johnson.

Purpose of the role:

  • As an Inside Sales & Virtual Sales Specialist, you will be required to Conduct outbound calls and emails to prospective Wound Closure customers, with a view to arranging trailing opportunities for our field based team.
  • Research and identify potential leads through various channels, including CRM, social media, industry events, and professional networks.
  • Qualify leads based on established criteria and deliver them to the sales team for face-to-face engagement and trials
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, contacts, and sales activities in our CRM system.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement effective lead generation campaigns.
  • As an Inside Sales & Virtual Sales Specialist you are required to achieve agreed objectives and sales targets as outlined in the annual performance cycle.
  • Working your allocated customer base, you will remotely interact and promote products to key customers and stakeholders in all surgical specialities. You take the lead in connecting with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders including theatre and procurement teams.
  • You will forge close relationships with the field-based Sales Specialists, supporting the co-ordination of digital communication across the territories.
  • You will be responsible for building relationships with our national & strategic partners both within the NHS and private sectors, providing them with the latest product supply, backorder & code query updates.
  • You lead your customer base through the development of business plans, focussing on servicing existing customers and identifying opportunities to upgrade customers to clinically appropriate alternatives.
  • You ensure key insights from the external marketplace are appropriately shared internally to shape future business plans.
  • You ensure competence in your focus areas and can effectively promote our product portfolio.

Account Planning

  • Analyse and interpret account strategies and plans utilizing key systems and data to gain a broad understanding of the business environment and insights into account needs.
  • Develop, deploy and maintain tactical account level plans that align to business and customer objectives.
  • Plan customer activity to deliver on account plans and breakthroughs.

Account Management

  • Through remote technology, build a network of relationships across your customer base that enable successful day-to-day customer support and maximise opportunities to sell the value of the Wound Closure & Healing portfolio and services.
  • Proactively set up regular virtual calls with key customers to provide updates, education opportunities and assist with understanding issues and providing solutions.
  • Use remote selling assets to present brand value propositions and valuable customer solutions to positively influence buying behaviours.
  • Deploy digital assets (email, web-based content) with confidence to maximise reach and engagement.
  • Use Social Media to create an effective network to engage directly with customers

Clinical Expertise

  • Understand technical information pertinent to the Wound Closure & Healing portfolio. Maintain up-to-date market and industry knowledge.

Who we are looking for?

  • Knowledge of MedTech environment
  • Demonstrated ability to generate leads and nurture client relationships.
  • Experience in Medical device sales, preferably within Wound Closure, however full product and sales training will be provided
  • Experience selling virtually is strongly preferred
  • Experience of using CRM software to take customers through the end-to-end customer journey
  • Excellent communication skills and commercial acumen.
  • Influencing and business partnering skills – understands stakeholder requirements and can identify opportunities
  • Ability to build trust with customers by asking probing questions that help the customer achieve their objectives, acting in a consultative manner.
  • Maintain clinical expertise in procedure and product knowledge.
  • Collaborating and teaming –actively engages and collaborates across functional boundaries.
  • Drive and tenacity and a strong can-do / self-starter mentality.
  • Act as a role model for J&J Credo values always. Demonstrate integrity and ethical behaviour in all areas of responsibility.
  • Willingness to attend training meetings as required.  This may require some ad-hoc travel
