We are seeking a AI Platform Engineer to develop and support AI applications and foundational algorithms.
This individual will initially join Collins and transition to RTX effective January 1, 2026.
** This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote. **
What YOU will do:
Integrate AI platform tools with enterprise systems such as identity management, logging, and governance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and successful solution delivery, aligned with SAFe principles of teamwork and transparency.
Build internal SDKs, APIs, and microservices to support AI workflows across hybrid environments.
Develop cloud-agnostic software that runs efficiently on AWS, Azure, and on-prem Kubernetes clusters.
Leverage managed services such as AWS SageMaker, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) where appropriate.
Write clean, testable, and efficient code with a strong emphasis on performance, scalability, maintainability, and comprehensive documentation to support long-term development and knowledge sharing.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile ceremonies.
Collaborate across remote teams, working in a highly regulated, security-conscious environment.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
Proficiency in Python.
Experience implementing service APIs (FastAPI, Flask, AWS Lambda or Azure Functions).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, etc.).
Qualifications We Prefer:
Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes (CI/CD), testing, and delivery for existing and new team products.
Understanding of AI/ML tools, data platforms and API management platforms.
Additional languages: Node.js or Go.
DevOps methodologies, and AIOps strategies, championing containerization and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity, define technical direction, and drive end-to-end solutions.
Demonstrated deep technical curiosity and the initiative to dive into complex challenges.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
