Position SummaryThe Director of Integration will lead and oversee the seamless onboarding and operational integration of new MSP acquisitions into Shield Technology Partners' platform. This role will be responsible for building, managing, and optimizing standardized integration processes across finance, operations, technology, and people functions, ensuring every new partner company rapidly achieves operational alignment and value creation.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on managing complexity, excels at cross-functional project leadership, and can drive consistent, repeatable results in fast-paced, change-driven environments. The right candidate will be process-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable partnering with C-level executives, local leadership teams, and Shield’s internal functional leaders to deliver successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Own and drive the post-acquisition integration process for Shield’s MSP partner companies, from initial diligence handoff through full operational alignment.
Develop, document, and continuously improve standardized integration playbooks across key business functions (finance, HR, IT, operations, legal).
Create and maintain detailed project plans for each integration, including timelines, milestones, risks, and key deliverables.
Lead cross-functional integration teams, coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and minimal disruption to local partner operations.
Serve as the primary liaison between Shield's leadership team and acquired companies throughout the integration period, ensuring transparent communication and proactive issue resolution.
Identify and track synergies, operational improvements, and value-creation initiatives, ensuring realization of strategic goals post-acquisition.
Establish metrics to measure integration success and drive continuous improvement in Shield’s integration processes.
Partner closely with M&A, Finance, Technology, HR, and Operations teams to ensure alignment on integration strategy and execution.
Support due diligence efforts for future acquisitions by advising on integration complexity, risks, and preliminary planning.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Project Management, or a related field required.
Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field strongly preferred.
Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, Prosci Change Management) are preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
10+ years of experience in post-acquisition integration, corporate development, operations management, or project management roles.
Strong track record of leading complex, multi-functional integration projects across multiple business units or entities.
Deep knowledge of operational processes within IT Managed Services or professional services businesses.
Experience building and executing integration playbooks and standardized processes at scale.
Exceptional project management skills, with expertise in tools such as Smartsheet, Monday.com, or equivalent.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on action and accountability.
Preferred
Prior experience working in private equity-backed environments or supporting buy-and-build growth strategies.
Familiarity with M&A due diligence, post-close planning, and operational improvement initiatives.
Experience integrating systems such as PSA tools, ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks), HRIS systems (e.g., UKG), and CRM systems.
