The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:

RTX has an opening for an Application Portfolio Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Application Services Strategy & Transformation team. This team is diverse, collaborative, and deeply focused on delivering high-impact, data-driven insights to senior leadership. 

In this role, you will serve as the coordinator and steward of the application inventory, ensuring that business unit portfolios are accurate, aligned, and actionable. You will play a critical role in managing application data for RTX Corporate team, providing promoting IT Asset Management (ITAM) best practices, and driving long-term strategic value from our portfolio. 

What You Will Do:

  • Lead efforts to cleanse and streamline the enterprise application portfolio inventory.

  • Drive alignment around data attributes and field definitions, focusing initially on business application data.

  • Provide strategic support and guidance for Application Portfolio Management (APM) efforts to ensure data consistency and reduce duplication.

  • Provide monthly retirement reports and other key interim reporting while dashboard capabilities are under development.

  • Conduct regular outreach to operations leads and APMs to verify data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

  • Support enterprise-wide harmonization efforts by aligning business unit data with APM standards and goals.

  • Assist business units in understanding and applying IT Asset Management (ITAM) and APM best practices.

  • Act as a resource for questions, clarification, and documentation of APM tools and processes.

  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption and integration of new processes and tools within the application portfolio management framework.

  • Develop and execute change management plans, including communication, training, and support strategies, to facilitate smooth transitions.

  • Engage stakeholders at all levels to foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change management efforts, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of standardized application portfolio management processes across business units.

  • Ensure process documentation is clear, accessible, and adaptable to evolving business needs.

  • Contribute to the definition and promotion of a long-term vision for application portfolio value and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Participate in the establishment of governance practices to maintain data quality through regular cleansing and updates.

  • Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to produce timely and accurate reports on application portfolio metrics.

  • Provide insights into application performance, usage, and health to inform leadership decisions.

  • Build strong working relationships with application portfolio managers and operations teams across business units.

  • Help improve communication and coordination efforts that support unified and consistent portfolio data management.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in business data analysis, application/inventory management, or related technology roles.

  • Hands-on experience with APM tools (e.g., Planview Enterprise Architecture, ServiceNow).

  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).

  • Strong understanding of enterprise application ecosystems and IT service line data structures.

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to engage senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; able to synthesize large datasets.

Qualification We Prefer:

  • Experience creating executive level reports.

  • Experience conducting outreach to validate data accuracy and completeness in collaboration with APMs and operational leads.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
