Now, we’re on the lookout for an experienced Operations Manager to lead that team in one of our most iconic destinations: Australia 

 

As Operations Manager for Australia, you’ll be at the heart of bringing Intrepid adventures to life across the region. Your role will be critical in ensuring that every trip runs smoothly, efficiently, and in line with our commitment to both quality and profitability. Your responsibilities will include everything from strategic operational planning, handling on trip incidents and complaints, managing safety and compliance, recruiting, training, and management of our incredible team of Deputy Ops Managers, Tour Guides and a large fleet of vehicles! 

 

You’ll also serve as the key connection point between Intrepid Brands, our on-ground leaders, and the Melbourne-based office team — ensuring every experience meets the Intrepid standard of excellence. As a core member of the DMC Management Team, you’ll also help shape the strategic vision and direction of our country office, playing a vital role in the ongoing success of Intrepid Australia. 

 

This is a full-time permanent position which can be based anywhere in Australia. 

 

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include: 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in operations management, preferably across multiple locations 

  • Proven experience with legal and licensing obligations, best practice process design, maintenance, and continuous improvement management   

  • In-depth knowledge of Australia, product, itineraries, destinations, and the adventure travel industry 

  • Outstanding communication as well as people and relationship-management skills 

  • A background in managing operations within travel and touring is highly preferable  

  • Ability to plan and work to a budget.
