As a Field Claims Advisor, Major Losses, you help oversee and maintain business relationships with members and clients for any claim following a loss. In your role, you handle claims for home and business members and clients for major losses and special risks. You investigate the circumstances and approve claims. Your complex work requires extensive knowledge of your line of business. Using your ability to make quality decisions, you develop solutions, negotiate settlements and reach agreements with the member or client, a third party or any other stakeholder. You advise and support clients, represent Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with clients. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. More specifically, you will be required to :
Apply the major loss optimization process
Compensate members and clients in accordance with company standards and policies, respecting the scope of insurance policies, commitments to quality and deadlines to ensure client satisfaction and to avoid paying penalties
Negotiate with all parties involved to ensure smooth claims processing

What you bring to the table
Bachelor's degree in a related field
A minimum of four years of relevant field claims experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Experience in customer service
Commercial claims advisor certificate
Claims advisor certificate
Knowledge of French is required
Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
Available for travel within Greater Montreal and the surrounding areas based on business needs (50%)
Must have a valid driver’s licence (company car and cellphone provided)
