JOB LOCATION

This is a US REMOTE position.  

COMPENSATION

$110,000.00 - $155,000.00 / year, Exempt, with a discretionary bonus of up to 10%.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Sensei Ag is looking for an experienced Fixed Asset Manager to join our team. The individual in this role will play a crucial part in our accounting department. You will work closely with management and operations on all capital project initiatives and will be responsible for managing all aspects of fixed asset accounting and reporting. You will have the opportunity to contribute to our company’s vision of merging agriculture and innovation to achieve sustainable farming practices and to grow delicious and fresh fruits and vegetables.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Responsible for end-to-end Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting process in close collaboration with business partners.
  • Analyze assets, asset impairments, investments, and leases to determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with Fixed Assets policy as well as ASC 350, 360, and 842.
  • Monitor and execute internal control procedures to ensure that company assets are protected.
  • Prepare and record journal entries in GL and FA modules, monthly reconciliation and trend analysis.
  • Apply internal policies to capital expenditure requests, and continuous updates to policies, procedures, and process improvements to support business growth and expansion.
  • Conduct monthly/annual closing activities, including system closing, capitalization of capital projects, asset additions/retirements, and depreciation expense posting.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to finance and operational teams on fixed asset policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Oversee the tracking and management of construction in progress (CIP) assets.
  • Generate monthly fixed asset reports for management review.
  • Manage and coordinate periodic fixed asset physical counts, including documentation, reporting, and retirement tracking and approval.
  • Play a key role in the management of the NetSuite Fixed Assets module.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED

  • You have at least 7 years of experience in fixed asset management, preferably within manufacturing or agriculture industry.
  • Proficient in using NetSuite or similar ERP Solutions.
  • Expertise in Capitalization and Fixed Asset Accounting is required.
  • Experience in managing Fixed Asset Additions, Depreciation, Inter-company transfer, and Ledger.
  • Proven ability to handle accounting functions and accrual accounting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Bonus points if you have...

  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

  • You are able to travel up to 20% of the time.
