Job description

About Blackbird Health:

At Blackbird Health, we envision a world where every child receives the care and support they need to thrive—emotionally, socially, and developmentally. That’s why we're transforming how pediatric mental health is assessed and treated, so we can make world-class care available in local communities.

Our whole-child diagnostic approach reveals the full story behind each child’s challenges, allowing us to address both the symptoms and their underlying causes. This leads to precise treatment sequenced in the right way to achieve meaningful outcomes that last.

Currently, we provide virtual and in-person mental health services across Pennsylvania and Virginia with plans to expand to new markets in 2025.

Internship Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented intern to support both our sales and marketing teams for an 8–12 week, full-time internship. This role offers an educational experience focused on building practical skills in community outreach, content creation, and healthcare marketing. Interns will be fully integrated into team projects with structured mentorship and professional development opportunities.

This internship will start in early June, 2025

Responsibilities:

Sales & Community Support (50%)

  • Identify and research contacts at local pediatric clinics, primary care offices, and therapy practices.

  • Reach out via phone and LinkedIn to schedule meetings with our local sales team.

  • Scope local opportunities for Blackbird to participate in community events, health fairs, and school gatherings.

  • Track outreach efforts in HubSpot and flag warm leads for sales team follow-up.

Content Support (50%)

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to adapt clinical insights into clear, parent-friendly content.

  • Translate longform content (e.g., blogs, tip sheets) into engaging social posts and emails.

  • Contribute to the content calendar by pitching ideas relevant to families with struggling kids, pediatricians, therapists, and school mental health staff.

  • Help ensure consistent brand voice and clear messaging across all public-facing materials.

Key Details to Know:

  • Educational Experience: The internship is structured around providing education and training similar to what would be provided in a college-level learning environment.

  • Primary Benefit to Intern: This experience is designed primarily to develop the intern’s skills, offering valuable learning, mentorship, and professional development.

  • Unpaid and No Job Guarantee: This is an unpaid internship. Participation does not entitle the intern to wages or a promise of future employment at Blackbird Health.

  • Timebound Commitment: The internship requires a commitment of 30–40 hours per week over a period of 8–12 weeks, with specific start and end dates to be agreed upon.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field preferred).

  • Strong communication skills — both written and verbal.

  • Comfortable reaching out to external contacts by phone, email, and LinkedIn.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in tracking and managing outreach efforts.

  • Ability to adapt technical or clinical information into accessible, family-friendly language.

  • Reliable and committed to working 30–40 hours per week for the full internship period.

This a fully remote position
