The PAS Support Specialist will be responsible for thoroughly reviewing, gathering, and submitting required documents for prepared appeals. This person will be responsible for submitting appeals to payers successfully in a variety of ways including but not limited to e-fax, email or online portals.
In order to be successful in this role, the PAS Support Specialist will need excellent documentation and communication skills. Attention to detail is of paramount importance. The ability to work in multiple programs simultaneously is required.
Responsibilities:
Collate appeal packages to be submitted to various payers
Submit appeals to various payers in accordance with specific facility protocols
Navigate PAS portal, R1 software suite and combined use of other online tools/software and resources
Adhere to established workflow based on client and payer protocols
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma required
1+ year of work experience in the healthcare revenue cycle (billing, follow-up, cash posting, appeals)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in MS Excel & MS Word; excellent computer skills
Experience working with medical records is preferred (HIM, Medical records tech)
