About the job

As a a Database Administrator (DBA) at Aspire, you will manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases on AWS, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Experience with Amazon RDS and RDS Aurora is a plus. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain database systems to ensure high reliability and efficiency.

What you’ll do

Design, implement, and manage PostegreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
Monitor and optimize database performance, including tuning queries, indexes, and configurations.
Implement and maintain automated solutions for backups, recovery, and high availability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and deployment.
Manage database migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime.
Ensure Database Security, compliance, and adherence to best practice.
Utilize AWS services, particularly RDS and RDS Aurora, to support and enhance database infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and outages.

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience in a similar role.
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or any IT-related field.
Strong experience as a DBA working with PostgreSQL in production environments.
Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly RDS and RDS Aurora.
Proven ability to manage database at scale, supporting high-volume, mission-critical applications.
Solid understanding of database design principles, replication, and clustering.
Experience with database monitoring tools and performance tuning.
Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Awareness or knowledge of IT security best practices as defined by ISO / SOC or similar
