This is a remote position.

About the job

As a a Database Administrator (DBA) at Aspire, you will manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases on AWS, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Experience with Amazon RDS and RDS Aurora is a plus. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain database systems to ensure high reliability and efficiency.


What you’ll do
  • Design, implement, and manage PostegreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including tuning queries, indexes, and configurations.
  • Implement and maintain automated solutions for backups, recovery, and high availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and deployment.
  • Manage database migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime.
  • Ensure Database Security, compliance, and adherence to best practice.
  • Utilize AWS services, particularly RDS and RDS Aurora, to support and enhance database infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and outages.

What you’ll need

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or any IT-related field.
  • Strong experience as a DBA working with PostgreSQL in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly RDS and RDS Aurora.
  • Proven ability to manage database at scale, supporting high-volume, mission-critical applications.
  • Solid understanding of database design principles, replication, and clustering.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Awareness or knowledge of IT security best practices as defined by ISO / SOC or similar
