The Engineering Intern will work with the IT/Engineering team on a variety of specific engineering projects and areas as noted below. This position will report directly to the supervisor but will have exposure to the wider business teams. Interns will complete a capstone type project over the summer culminating in a presentation to business leadership.


The Automation IT/Engineer will focus on a key project to deliver advanced, automated manufacturing technology to a Marmon facility.
Marmon has manufacturing facilities across North America. This position will be based at one of our facilities, subject to the needs of the hiring manager. Preferences will be taken into account, but not guaranteed.


What you'll do:
•Collaborate with other team members on various engineering and systems analysis projects
•Participate in team meetings
•Develop project requirements based on business data and shop floor observations
•Use your engineering skills to specify / design / build / implement solutions, as required, in conjunction with senior engineering staff. What you'll bring to the role:
•Actively pursuing an undergraduate (or Graduate) degree in Engineering, Science, or related field
•Rising junior or senior academic status
•Strong interest in applying engineering knowledge to practical problems
•Ability to comply with deadlines
•Problem solving and critical thinking skills
•Excellent organizational skills
•Interest in technology and process improvement
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
•No previous experience required
Certain peak periods may provide an opportunity for overtime. This is a paid position. The internship will run for 12 weeks (about 3 months) from May thru August. Exact dates flexible based on school schedules. Marmon's Intern hourly payrate $27-$30 an hour
