We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Fraud Analyst to join our team at Sift within the Managed Services organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to deliver impactful, client-focused fraud prevention solutions. In this role, you will serve as the dedicated fraud analyst for Sift’s fully managed customers, playing a key role in identifying emerging fraud trends, conducting manual reviews to enhance machine learning models, optimizing system performance, and implementing tailored recommendations to improve customer outcomes.
What you’ll do
Identify potential fraud trends and perform manual reviews to help train machine learning models.
Optimize Sift’s performance and value for our managed services clients.
Provide system recommendations and implement them to help clients prevent fraud, increase acceptance rates, and improve other key performance indicators (KPIs).
Educate internal teams on all topics related to risk, trust, and safety.
Help develop engaging, trust-and-safety-focused content for the Sift community.
Become an expert in using the Sift product.
What would be a strong fit
4+ years of experience as an individual contributor addressing multiple abuse types (e.g., financial fraud, chargebacks, account takeovers, fake accounts).
Proven experience performing manual reviews of transactions and user accounts to detect suspicious activity and fraudulent behavior.
Strong cross-functional communication skills.
Hands-on experience managing chargebacks, including dispute resolution, and familiarity with chargeback rules and requirements.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing customer needs.
Willingness and ability to travel 2–3 times per year for company events, offsites, and team-building activities.
Flexibility to work hours that provide coverage for APAC-based customers.
Nice to have
Previous experience using the Sift product.
Data querying and analysis skills (e.g., Python, SQL, Hadoop, Looker, Spark, scripting, Snowflake, Tableau).
Relevant industry certifications such as CFE, CPFPP, or ACFE.
