Job description

Agile Six is a people-first, remote-work company that serves shoulder-to-shoulder with federal agencies to find innovative, human-centered solutions. We build better by putting people first. We are animated by our core values of Purpose, Wholeness, Trust, Self-Management and Inclusion. We deliver our solutions in autonomous teams of self-managed professionals (no managers here!) who genuinely care about each other and the work. We know that’s our company’s purpose – and that we can only achieve it by supporting a culture where people feel valued, self-managed, and love to come to work.

The role

If you have experience using AI and working across a range of disciplines, drop us a line using this application! We are excited to build a workforce of AI power users—individuals who leverage AI tools effectively, responsibly, and creatively in service of better government.

We welcome people from cross-functional, multi-disciplinary backgrounds who have experience with: engineering, product, design, data, research, and/or delivery. At Agile Six, our roles entail collaborating with cross-functional teams on projects for government agencies and the people they serve.

Finally, we are deliberate about the culture we’re building. We look for folks with an adaptive, empathetic and collaborative mindset – folks who care deeply about their teammates. Most importantly, we look for people that have a passion for working on important problems that have a lasting impact on millions of users and make a difference in our government!

Please note, this is a networking job post. It is an opportunity for you to submit an application to be considered for future openings. We cannot guarantee an interview for every interested applicant at this time, but will review every application and add interested folks to our talent network, to be considered for future openings.

Anticipated Responsibilities:

  • Leverage AI to help build and improve user-centric, accessible government software and services
  • Work across disciplines to contribute to shared (product, design, engineering, delivery) goals
  • Prototype and evaluate products, services, and systems using human-centered and hypothesis-driven approaches
  • Share learnings across teams to grow the collective practice of ethical AI at Agile Six

Each project, team, and person is unique. When we have an open position, the exact responsibilities will depend on the project goals, team structure, and your unique strengths!

Basic qualifications

  • Experience building, designing, and/or delivering software and services as part of a cross-functional technology team
  • Hands-on experience applying AI to real-world problems, particularly in civic tech, social impact work, healthcare, or education
  • Comfortable operating in complex and ambiguous environment
  • Interest in contributing to Agile Six’s emerging AI Community of Practcice
  • Familiar with data governance, model evaluation, and responsible use of AI
  • Work authorization and residency in the United States for 3 out of the last 5 years (we are unable to sponsor candidates at this time)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally

Additional desired qualifications

  • Familiarity with the US Web Design System
  • Familiarity with Section-508 and WCAG 2.1AA Accessibility requirements, standards, and testing tools
  • You are a U.S. Veteran. As a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, we recognize the transition to civilian life can be tricky, and welcome and encourage Veterans to apply

At Agile Six, we are committed to building teams that represent many backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. Even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. We’re eager to meet people who believe in our mission and who can contribute to our team in a variety of ways.
