Job description

Title: Rancher OS Engineer/Consultant
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months Contract with extensions
Only GC or USC (Must have excellent communication skills)

We are seeking an experienced RancherOS Engineer/Consultant with 5 to 8 years of active experience in RancherOS to assist in transitioning operational and engineering tasks. The role involves a structured onboarding process, working closely with the existing team to understand the current RancherOS environment, training the team, and creating comprehensive documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
Utilize your extensive experience with RancherOS to troubleshoot, investigate, advise, recommend, and optimize the environment.
Engage in a 2-month onboarding process to understand the existing RancherOS environment (NYULH) with guidance from Vadim (Portal Infra). Subsequently, train the team, shadow existing processes, and reverse shadow team members to ensure seamless knowledge transfer.
Develop and document standard operating procedures, including tasks like adding users, managing nodes, and allocating space within RancherOS.
Work as part of a team that integrates RancherOS with Kubernetes, ensuring efficient upgrades, patches, and software management.
Provide detailed operational documentation and conduct learning sessions to ensure the team is well-prepared for ongoing support and management.
Leverage your experience with UNIX (Red Hat, Ubuntu), VMware, Ansible, and infrastructure management to optimize and automate processes within the environment.
Apply your skills in Ansible Tower, Windows OS, ESXi, Git, and NetApp storage to support and enhance the overall infrastructure.
