Hoplite Group was created by a team of senior executives with extensive public sector and highly relevant commercial experience in economic development in frontier markets. Our team is unique in that it feels equally at home in the field or in the boardroom. We create sustainable and innovative solutions to complex problems and in the most challenging environments and harshest conditions.
Opportunity: Business Development and Capture Director
Bottom Line Up Front: The Hoplite Group, a Veteran-Owned Small Business specializing in defense-oriented solutions, is seeking a Business Development and Capture Director. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of winning “butts in seats” oriented contracts supporting the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), its Service (i.e. USASOC/AFSOC, etc.), Theater components (i.e. SOCCENT, SOCEUR, etc.), or JSOC. More specifically, a candidate must have a strong track record of pursuing contracts that involve staffing contracts focused on intelligence, information operations, planning and/or mission support full-time equivalent positions. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong experience in operational contract opportunities with strong relationships in the government contracting space, particularly within the greater USSOCOM enterprise. Our preferred candidate has roughly mid-level experience in BD/Capture manager or associate manager but is hungry to make a jump to a Director position, and who is driven to turn qualified leads into opportunities, then shaped to proper capture strategies, then into exceptional proposals, and ultimately turn into winning bids.
Location: Remote (Ideal Location is Tampa, FL)
Level of Effort: Full-Time – in a small business environment that requires energy, brains, discipline, imagination, follow-through, and organization.
Availability: Immediate
Duties Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Principal Director leading business development efforts, including identifying, capturing, and securing new business opportunities within USSOCOM and its components.
Develop and execute strategic capture plans to expand company offerings within the government contracting sector.

Collaborate with internal teams (HR, contracts, finance, recruiting, and operations) to develop winning solutions and pricing plans.
Coordinate with Proposal Manager to ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other government contracting requirements.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Minimum BA/BS degree.
Demonstrated experience winning contracts that involve staffing cleared professionals in intelligence, operations, and mission support FTE roles in SOF/USSOCOM (within the last 2 years).
5+ years-experience in business development or capture management within the government contracting environment, with at least 5 years-experience with contract focus on projects related to U.S. Special Operations Command, and its Service or Theater Components. This requirement includes experience working within Government Services Administration contracting processes as well as Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics.
Former military background in SOF units desired, but willing to consider non-SOF unit personnel if they have experience with SOF-related contracts.
