Position Summary
The Vice President of Marketing plays a critical leadership role in leading the marketing function and ongoing commercial launch for imetelstat. The Vice President is responsible for developing the US marketing team, strategy, and tactics across audiences (e.g., healthcare practitioners, patients, and advocacy), leading the US go-to-market cross-functional launch team, directing cross-company omnichannel efforts, and serving as a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team (CLT).
This position is remote with a corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ. The Vice President will report to the Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of brand and tactical plans
- Communicate brand vision, strategy, and imperatives; provide clear focus and prioritization on all aspects of marketing strategy and initiatives
- Execute operational plan to deliver successful commercialization of imetelstat in the US market
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets and commercial inputs into the Company’s long-term strategic plan
- Strategic and executional responsibility to ensure commercial and non-commercial functions are aligned and delivering on key brand imperatives
- Attract, manage, coach, develop, and retain a talented central and regional marketing team to effectively achieve the mission and stated objectives, ensuring a highly engaged and accountable team culture
- Champion cross-functional collaboration across departments and field-based teams to develop integrated and holistic strategies and solutions for patients and providers
- Work closely with medical leadership and the field-based customer engagement teams to build an effective and compliant collaboration covering Key Opinion Leader (KOL) planning and engagement, publication planning, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) planning, and medical education plans
- Build and maintain strong thought leader relationships

Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or life sciences required; advanced degree preferred
- 15+ years of progressive experience in marketing function in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Significant product launch experience in a senior/executive level marketing leadership position with substantial, hands-on commercial experience in hematology or oncology
- Recent major market development, pre-launch, and launch experience in the US and key global markets in oncology or hematology
- Extensive experience with developing and executing marketing strategies and tactics, market research and analysis, and business forecasting
- Direct experience working within complex global alliance/partnership environments
- US payor marketing experience highly desired

Salary Statement:
Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant’s relevant skills, experience, and educational background. The salary ranges displayed below are only for those who, if selected for the role, will perform work in the specific locations listed. Please note the employment opportunity is not limited to these locations.
General Salary Range: $320,000 to $335,000
