The CTE Regional Specialist will grow the National Geographic Learning market share in K12 Career and Technical Education (CTE) by partnering effectively with the Secondary Education group. The incumbent will develop an effective sales strategy, ensure NGL’s competitiveness in adoption decisions, and increase customer success with our products and platforms.
 

What you'll do here:
  • Build and implement an effective CTE sales plan aligning with the Secondary Education team for CTE products sold in K12.
  • Develop an effective post-sale support strategy and plan for both print and digital in alignment with the customer success team and US marketing team.
  • Develop effective playbooks in collaboration with Marketing based on state and district logistics.
  • Manage the sales pipeline to ensure CTE achieves its sales target.
  • Monitor ongoing customer activities against sales goals and account-level plans.
  • Lead customer meetings and sales discussions to help close new business and retain existing business.
  • Lead a strategic selling approach by working directly with Secondary sales consultants and regional managers on their CTE selling strategies.
  • Manage the RFP process for CTE products and build proposals that win the business.
  • Create and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Partner with the editorial team, technical product team, and the marketing team to ensure product plans and marketing plans will succeed in the CTE market.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the product line, digital platforms, and the US K12 market.
  • Develop competitive knowledge to help shape product positioning and product development, leading to increased market share.
  • Find opportunities to involve CTE authors, advocates, or other team members within the CTE team as appropriate.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between teams!
     
Skills you will need here:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least five years sales experience.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively with other departments within the organization.
  • Strong diplomatic skills and the ability to cite evidence to support opinions.
  • Strong C-level consulting and partnering skills, building relationships at both the district and state level.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, including experience creating presentations.
  • Must display initiative and flexibility, be thorough, and effectively work on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically, and can successfully prioritize tasks to ensure that the team achieves its objectives.
  • Knowledge of commonly used digital platforms, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to travel 35% overnight and able to travel by auto and air.
     

Preferred

  • Five years K12 sales experience in the CTE market
  • Managerial experience.
  • Experience mentoring and developing others.
  • Proven major-account sales ability in educational publishing, career and technical education, or other K12 sales.
  • Experience working with digital sales products/applications.
  • CRM experience

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$67,000.00 - $86,000.00 USD
