Analytics and Data Science Team Lead (Germany, Remote)

We are looking for an Analytics and Data Science Team Lead to join our Data team and play a key role in impacting business growth through data-driven insights.

This role will be a balanced mix of 50% hands-on and 50% leading a team of 3.

You'll have a direct impact on shaping the company's success by collaborating with key leaders across the organization, supporting, challenging, and guiding various business stakeholders in data-driven decisions that have a direct impact on growth and strategy.

This position is located in Germany and can be based in any city.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Supporting Starship’s data analytics needs across all functional domains, including insights, decision support, metrics, and reporting
• Collaborating with functional domain leads to ensure the most impactful data opportunities are addressed
• Looking after the well-being, productivity, and professional growth of your direct reports
• Defining ways of working and maintaining standards and quality in the data analytics and data science domains
• Planning for and hiring into the team to ensure the long-term success of the team

What we hope you’ll bring to the table:

• Previous experience working as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar, where you worked closely with key leaders and drove decisions through hands-on analysis in business, growth, strategy, product, or similar domains that directly impacted growth and strategy
• Experience leading teams and managing people
• Very strong SQL skills
• A quantitative mindset with a sharp focus on solving problems through data-driven decision-making
• Business acumen with the ability to influence outcomes and guide strategy
• Strong prioritization, stakeholder, and stress management skills
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
