This role will be part of the Producer Compliance team responsible for end to end handling of the onboarding of insurance producer business partners (insurance brokers and agents) to ensure compliance with internal policies and practices as well as applicable regulatory requirements. The Analyst, working under the direction of the Producer Compliance Manager.
Responsibilities
Collecting and reviewing due diligence materials and other documents and information necessary for onboarding new producer partners
Processing Notice of Appointment and Termination of Appointment filings with applicable state insurance regulators
Maintaining insurance producer records, contracts, broker codes, and related database systems and physical files
Processing invoices for all new and renewal insurance producer appointments and subscriptions to related service providers; assisting finance and tax departments with reporting and allocations of appointment-related fees and costs
Working with lawyers in the Company's legal department to prepare insurance producer contracts and address legal/regulatory matters pertaining to insurance producers (e.g., licensing, appointments)
Monitoring industry best practices and legal and regulatory changes affecting producer licensing and appointments
Assisting with other insurance licensing requirements
Manage multiple workstreams and ensure projects are prioritized as necessary to ensure they are completed on a timely basis, promoting a positive relationship with the Company’s insurance producers. They will be responsible for monitoring the status of pending requests and ensuring that requests are timely following up with internal stakeholders and external business partners to ensure deadlines and requirements are met.
Help investigate open issues and collaborate with team members and other departments to find a resolution.
Serve as the company’s key subject matter experts on the insurance producer management software systems and other technology tools (e.g., Sircon Producer Manager, Excel, CRM applications) utilized to manage appointments and related data. They will help leverage technology to create reporting on insurance producer activity to address information requests from other business units or regulators.
Assist in onboarding new business units and develop or adjust processes and procedures as appropriate.
Demonstrate commitment to Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.
Requirements
Associates Degree+ or experience with insurance producer compliance is a minimum requirement.
Experience in a compliance role within an insurance or other financial services business is beneficial
Experience with insurance producer licensing and appointments, state insurance laws, or insurance broker and agency operations generally, is a plus
