About the role:

As Middle Back End Developer, you'll become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.

Our client is a digital leader in the publishing sector, managing multiple high-traffic websites and customer platforms. With a strong focus on digital excellence, performance, and user experience,the client is committed to maintaining the stability, relevance, and growth of their global web presence.

Responsibilities:

Support the maintenance and implementation of normalized data structures and service APIs to enable frontend updates and development of new pages, features, tools, flows, and user journeys in line with Product team requirements and priorities
Examples include: multilingual website support, new user flows, and feature-specific pages
Maintain and optimize server-side logic and database queries to ensure efficient performance and scalability
Manage database schemas, handle migrations, and ensure data consistency and integrity across systems
Identify and troubleshoot backend issues, including application bugs, performance bottlenecks, and potential security risks
Apply best practices in backend development, including up-to-date security standards
Monitor server health and application performance, proactively addressing any technical concerns
Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as DevOps, Backend, UX/UI, QA, and Product to ensure smooth implementation and testing of new features
Participate in code reviews and maintain adherence to coding standards and team guidelines
Responsible for writing and maintaining technical documentation for both changes and new implementations

Requirements:

Develop and maintain server-side logic using languages like Python, Node.js, or Java, ensuring clean and efficient backend architecture
Design, implement, and optimize APIs, including those integrating AI models, ensuring seamless connection with frontend components
Manage and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases, focusing on performance, scalability, and data integrity
Work with Firebase and Google Cloud services, including cloud storage and database solutions, to support scalable and cloud-native applications
Collaborate in a bilingual environment, leveraging English and Spanish communication skills for clear documentation and cross-functional teamwork

Desirable:

Experience with cloud platforms e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
Knowledge of server monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus)
Experience with CMS Strapi
