Job Title: Project Manager – Philanthropy

Organization: Tilt Collective / Windward Fund

Reporting To: Chief Development Officer

Location: USA

Salary: $90,000 - $115,000

Job Type: Full Time, Exempt


Position Overview

The Project Manager, Philanthropy is a key contributor to the success of Tilt Collective's philanthropic efforts by managing project workflows and providing strategic support, including for donor engagement materials, donor events, and other initiatives across the development team. This role interacts across multiple teams, including Communications, Programs, and Operations.

Job Responsibilities

Donor Deliverables (50%)

  • Manage the development and timely execution of donor deliverables, including creating work plans, timelines, and tracking status of project elements.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the Philanthropy Lead and senior team members on donor engagement strategies.
  • Partner with Communications, Programs, and Operations teams to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration to deliver outcomes for donor initiatives.
  • Tap into internal knowledge management resources to fulfill donor-related requests and support preparation of donor-facing materials (e.g., briefing documents, presentations, funding proposals).
  • Prepare detailed briefings and strategic materials for meetings for Leadership Team and senior team member with donors, ambassadors, volunteers, and partners.

Administration and Workflow (30%)

  • Record and manage key action items from internal and external meetings, and coordinate follow-up with relevant staff.
  • Arrange complex internal and external meetings with the appropriate administrative support when needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in the CRM, including donor activities, tracking funding opportunities, and updating prospect information.
  • Coordinate with Operations on defining protocols and processes for data management and maintenance in the CRM.

Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives (20%)

  • Contribute to special projects that advance the philanthropy team's goals, including but not limited to, managing events, building processes and systems to ensure consistency across Tilt team members for donor engagement, develop and manage donor stewardship plans, and partner with Philanthropy Lead and prospect research to implement pipeline development plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong project management skills, including planning, organizing, and executing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills; able to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, CRMs, Google Drive, and project management tools like Monday.com.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and to adapt to a dynamic, multicultural work environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and wok in a high-performing team.
  • Passion for social and environmental justice issues, including a commitment to advancing equity and justice, and dedication to creating a more sustainable global food system.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in project management or in a role supporting fundraising/philanthropy for mission-driven organizations.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or client services preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Tilt Collective is a fully remote organization with team members across multiple time zones. Flexibility is required, including occasional travel and availability during off-hours to accommodate deadlines or global partners.
