This is a remote position.

Role Name: Senior Tax Accountant


Schedule:

  • Full-time (40 hours/week)

  • Flexible during client's business hours 6:00 am - 8:00 pm 

  • Client Timezone: Hawaii Standard Time


Role overview

Take ownership of tax services for a diverse portfolio of small business clients in this client-facing role. You'll work directly with business owners, combining technical tax expertise with outstanding communication skills to deliver clear, actionable tax guidance. This position offers the unique opportunity to build lasting client relationships while working in a modern, horizontal structure that values direct client interaction over traditional hierarchical approaches. As part of our growth strategy, you'll have the opportunity to help shape our tax services division while working remotely with our dynamic team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and prepare tax returns for small businesses and their owners

  • Build and maintain direct relationships with a portfolio of clients

  • Conduct client meetings to review tax situations and provide strategic guidance

  • Translate complex tax concepts into clear, actionable recommendations

  • Identify tax planning opportunities for clients

  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure comprehensive client service

  • Participate in the firm's growth initiatives and service expansion



Requirements
  • 2-3 years of US tax preparation experience

  • Proven track record of excellent client communication and relationship management

  • Strong English communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts simply

  • Experience working with small business owners and individual tax clients

  • Comfortable in a direct client-facing role

  • Remote work experience preferred

  • Ability to work Hawaii Standard Time business hours

  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
