Job description

This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:

Contract: Independent Contractor
Schedule: 20 hours per week, flexible scheduling with some fixed hours
Client Timezone: Australian Time Zone


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of financial reports and business activity statements
  • Support preparation of tax returns for individual clients
  • Help compile financial documentation for company groups, trusts, and self-managed super funds
  • Process and prepare trial balances
  • Process payroll
  • Assist with bookkeeping tasks as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client information

Scope:

  • Part-time role - 20 hours per week
  • Mix of fixed and flexible hours to be determined
  • Working with approximately 150-200 individual clients
  • Supporting work for approximately 30 business groups
  • Preparation-focused role; no direct filing or authorization of returns
  • Remote work through secure systems and protocols

Requirements
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software (required)
  • Experience with BGL software (preferred)
  • Understanding of basic Australian accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent data privacy and confidentiality awareness
  • English language proficiency
  • Background in bookkeeping or accounting
