Position Summary

As a Market Development Manager - Bioprocessing you are responsible for outlining market strategy and points of entry into the Bioprocess market with the goal of achieving consistent growth with IH&S fluidics products.  IH&S designs and develops high-performance fluidic components and sub-assemblies for use in advanced laboratory equipment in life science applications.

This key role requires an individual experienced in the bioprocessing space with strategic vision for new product innovation and strong skills in team collaboration.  The market development manager champions our path in bioproduction markets and acts as the market expert, understanding and communicating trends, applications and growth rates.  They define and communicate value propositions for points of entry options.  While collaborating with cross-functional teams, they set the innovation roadmap.  This role also addresses channels to market, support mechanisms and ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction.

This role charts the course for and is ultimately responsible for top-line growth in the bioprocessing space.

Externally the Market Development Manager will gather voice of customer and maintain industry relationships with thought leaders.  Internally the Market Development Manager works closely with sales, engineering, product management, operations and quality.

What will you do?

As Market Development Manager, your primary focus is creating the strategic vision for growth in the bioprocessing space, setting the innovation roadmap to deliver on that vision.  This role includes topline revenue responsibility and serving as an advocate for one or more of our key existing customers.  You will have critical influence on the overall direction of the business.  Therefore, we are seeking a champion, with a winning spirit, who can excel in the following areas:

  • Product Development and Innovation Roadmap:  Develop comprehensive plans for growth in the target space and the customer’s “problems to be solved” to be addressed by solutions in our product and innovation roadmap.  This includes gathering voice of customer (VoC) and working cross-functionally to generate business cases that aid in the justification and prioritization of new products or enhancements.  These innovations can be delivered through internal development or potentially M&A.
  • Planning: Support activities associated with setting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) including, reporting, and orders forecasting.
  • Key Customer Advocate: To facilitate customer obsession, we assign key internal leaders to support the Sales team as a key customer advocate.  The advocate helps remove obstacles internally and ensures the business remains aligned with the needs of key customers.  The Market Development Manager will support one or more key customers.
  • Industry Relationships and Voice of Customer: Maintain relationships with industry thought leaders to facilitate the gathering of voice of customer and the testing of value proposition hypotheses.  Support the Sales team to gain inroads at target customers that may be new to IH&S.
