Job Description:

GDIT supports the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) located at Stennis Space Center (SSC) in southern Mississippi. The NSSC mission is to provide timely, accurate, high quality, cost-effective, and customer focused support for selected NASA business and technical services.

GDIT has an opportunity at the NSSC for a Senior ServiceNow Developer (Subject Matter Expert (SME)) to contribute to our success in providing IT development services to NSSC and NASA. This will be a full-time, remote position. 

The Senior ServiceNow Developer (SME) will provide support for the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Service Management Office (SMO). OCIO plans to leverage the NSSC’s ServiceNow instance to align with industry best practices and standards to support out-of-box workflows to improve customer experience.

The SME Developer will support the establishment of an OCIO catalog of services for the OCIO Service Lines (SLs) and Agency Level Offices (ALOs) that will aid in improving processes and centralizing OCIO services across the OCIO into the NSSC ServiceNow instance.

The relevant ServiceNow processes include but are not limited to: Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Service Request Management, Service Catalog, Service Portfolio Management, Configuration Management, Knowledge Management, Demand Management, Project Portfolio Management, and Service Level Management.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support for the OCIO SMO including the ServiceNow service portal, catalog items, NowPlatform, and other ServiceNow products in use at the NSSC (SPM, ITSM, etc.).
  • Leverage existing or establishing new platform capabilities or integrations that do not already exist for the purpose of implementing the SMO project within ServiceNow (e.g. user data, agency organizational structures, single sign-on capabilities) following the NSSC’s governance process.
  • Support the establishment of an OCIO catalog of services for the OCIO Service Lines (SLs) and Agency Level Offices (ALOs).
  • Ensure the referenced support coordinates all SMO, and/or other OCIO supported activities with the NSSC Enterprise Services Center (ESC) development team, and/or SSC OCIO prior to any official change request or notification submitted to any of the NSSC IT Governance Boards expressed in the NSSC IT Governance policy.

Knowledge, Expertise and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 20 years of development experience, primarily supporting ServiceNow.
  • ServiceNow certifications such as ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals, IT Service Management (ITSM) Fundamentals, IT Service Management (ITSM) Professional Plus Suite, ServiceNow Administration Advanced, etc.
  • Subject matter expert knowledge with ServiceNow modules to include but not limited to IT Service Management (ITSM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), IT Financial Management, IT Business Management (ITBM), Software Asset Management (ITAM).
  • Subject matter expert knowledge and application of Agile Scrum Methodologies.

The likely salary range for this position is $110,614 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
